We are soaking in every last minute of summer. As the temperatures start to drop, and the colors on the trees begin to change, we are hanging on to the very last of summer with this delightfully bright tropical smoothie bowl.

This smoothie bowl is light, refreshing and still gives you lots of nutritious goodness in each bite. Let’s dive into some of the benefits you get each time you enjoy this summertime treat.

Cantaloupe & Mango – With these fruits as the base for the smoothie bowl, you will get loads of vitamins and minerals in your system. Together, they are great sources of B, C, A, E and K vitamins, fiber and magnesium. They also house tons of antioxidants – which help keep you at your absolute best.

Banana – Not much has to be said about the amazing health benefits of bananas. They are rich in fiber, antioxidants and several key nutrients (including potassium, of course). With high levels of potassium and magnesium, bananas help to strengthen and support heart health too! Enjoying this smoothie also help keep you full longer due to the amount of pectin in bananas.

Bee Pollen – Bee pollen in rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes and fatty acids. It has powerful antibacterial, anti fungal and antiviral properties that reduce inflammation, stimulate the immune system, protects against liver toxicity and lowers cholesterol levels.

Ingredients

1 cup mango, frozen

1/2 cup cantaloupe, frozen

1 banana, frozen

1/2 lime, juiced

1/4 cup coconut cream (the hard part from canned coconut milk)

Warm water (if needed, to thin out smoothie mixture)

Toppings – 

1 banana, sliced

1/2 pluot, sliced

2 tbsp. bee pollen

1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

 

Instructions

  1. Mix together all ingredients in a high powered blender. If needed, add a little warm water to thin out smoothie mixture.
  2. Add to a bowl and top! Feel free to switch up the toppings as you please, too. ENJOY!
